Sugar addiction

Why didn’t I met you earlier?!

Hi my name is Michael and I’m addicted to soft drinks. It’s an addiction that I constantly fight against. Most of the times I win and sometimes I lose. Especially after exercising, during hot weather or when I’m having hot, spicy or salty food.

I mean, the taste of a sweet liquid sizzling down your throat is bliss. That is until I wonder why my pants are shrinking in the wash and why I bothered buying belts.

Soft drinks are making me fat at an alarming rate.

Every time I get stuck in the losing phase, I get fat and guilty and I revert to the “soft drink is plague” phase.

That is until I received the Ice Mountain Sparkling Water drink from the Dad’s for Life goodie bag for Father’s Day.

It’s not my first encounter with sparkling water. I used to work for a German company and had work trips to German once in a while. And sparkling water was commonly drank compared to the still water that we are used to.

I am unsure why I didn’t realize it back then, but only now i found my guilt free replacement for the soft drink! Maybe I was not looking for a replacement 🤣

I get the same fizzle without the sugar. And I stay hydrated without guilt or having to change my wardrobe!

Recently I had no other choice but to have a A&W root beer (which was one of my favourite in the past), it tasted horrible. I was surprised that I hated the taste. I found that it was not as fizzy as sparkling water.

Praise the Lord for sparkling water!
